Installation for card reader with cable

To use a log-on card and card reader with a cable, you need to install the BankID application and a driver for the card reader. Follow the instructions for Windows or Mac.

  • How do I know if I have a new or older card reader?

    You can tell the difference between the card readers by looking at where the cable is connected. On the older card reader, the cable is connected at the bottom of the device. On the new card reader, the cable is connected on the left side of the device.

    For a cable-connected card reader to work with the online bank, your computer and web browser must meet our system requirements.

  • Why can't I install the driver on a Windows computer with an ARM processor?

    The Windows driver has not been developed for computers with ARM processors. Therefore it cannot be installed on certain Windows computers, such as those equipped with Snapdragon or Microsoft SQ.

    You can check which processor your computer has in the Windows settings:

    1. Go to Settings > System > About
    2. Under Device specifications, you can see which processor your computer has
  • I still can't sign in. What should I do?

    If you have installed the BankID application and the driver but still cannot sign in using a cable-connected card reader, you can get help troubleshooting the issue.
