Install the security program and driver

To start using the log-on card and card reader with a cable (BankID on a card), you will need to install two programs: a security program for BankID and a driver for the card reader.

Instructions for Windows

  1. Install the security program for BankID
    Download the BankID application Opens in a new window
  2. Install driver for the card reader
    You may need to restart your computer after the driver has been installed.
    Driver for card reader: Windows 8.1 *
    Driver for card reader: Windows 10-11*
  3. Log in to Handelsbanken Online Banking

*The driver is not developed to be installed on computers with ARM processors. 

Instructions for Mac

  1. Install the security program for BankID
    Download the BankID application Opens in a new window

  2. Install driver for the card reader
    You will need to restart your computer after the driver has been installed. Install the driver for the old or new card reader. The cable is connected to the lower part of the old card reader. The cable is connected on the left side of the new card reader.
