Green financing together with Handelsbanken

Heba and Åke Sundvall are jointly taking out a green three-year loan of SEK 400m with Handelsbanken. Both parties are able to draw down the loan in several tranches during the three-year period. The loan will finance new production of 200 apartments in the Panorama project collaboration in Bredäng (south-west Stockholm). The construction work and the buildings will be certified with the Nordic Swan ecolabel.

Panorama

The project is named “Panorama” because there will be a beautiful panoramic view from most of the apartments. The elevated location close to the water in Bredäng affords a wide view over Lake Mälaren. The 200 Panorama flats are planned as housing co-operative apartments, divided into three tower blocks with a joint underground parking area. In total, there is around 10,000m2 of living space/premises space. Construction is planned to start in the autumn of 2020.

The collaboration project is being carried out through a joint company, with each party owning 50 per cent. Heba Fastighet AB is financing the project’s land acquisition of some SEK 90m; the total investment is around SEK 500m.

-Green Financing is a very important area for us at Handelsbanken. We’re therefore glad to be able to take this step together with Heba and Åke Sundvall, with whom we’ve long had good business relationships, says Anna Andersson, Manager of the Götgatsbacken branch in Stockholm.

- This is Heba’s first example of green financing, which feels like a good, important move for us: our plan is to continue with green financing. This is absolutely in line with our strategy for sustainability, which is reflected in everything we do and ties in well with Heba’s long-term approach to real estate development and management. Doing this together with our business partner Åke Sundvall is particularly pleasing, says Patrik Emanuelsson.

Åke Sundvall Byggnads AB is a company in its third generation of family ownership. It develops, builds and manages properties in Stockholm and Uppsala, and in Scania through a subsidiary. Since 1942, it has made its mark on the cities in the regions in which it operates. Its focus is on using the unique circumstances of every location as the basis for providing the city with buildings with qualities that put their stamp on the neighbourhood and allow people to thrive. Åke Sundvall Byggnads AB manages around 500 homes and has just over 3,000 residential properties in its project portfolio, to be built in the areas where it operates.

Martin Sundvall, CEO på Åke Sundvall Byggnads AB

- This collaboration is stimulating and rewarding, as we both have proud traditions as building contractors, and our expertise and experience complement each other well. We aim to build residential properties that provide the surrounding area with something extra, which allows people to prosper. Panorama will tie in well with this objective, and we look forward to building this project together with Heba, says Martin Sundvall.
